The Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man remains one of the most popular comic book characters of all time and like DC Comics own hero, Batman, has proved to be a lasting cultural icon and enormously commercially successful. To a new generation of cinema goers Spidey is best known as played by Tobey Maguire in the series of recent movies.

Spider-Man the action figure first appeared in 1973 alongside Tarzan and Captain America as one of the Marvel character additions to Mego’s popular World’s Greatest Super-Heroes line and became their all time top selling Super-Hero.
